Whitecraigs
J&W were recommended to a couple who had just bought a new house in Whitecraigs and were looking for some ideas to adapt the layout for their modern needs. This was a semi-detached house in a conservation area with a steeply sloping garden and young family. The objective was to create a family room linked to their kitchen and provide an inside-outside space for children to play in a protected environment.
It was also important to bring light deep into the plan of the house, however, to create a space that offered protection from the elements, resulting in a large overhanging eaves and folding doors to enable the house to be opened up into the garden and closed off, as required.
